The Opium Group Announces Opium at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Set to Open with Special Previews, April 3 & 4

944 Magazine Presents Special Preview Party Friday Night and DJ Joel Madden to Entertain Crowds on Saturday Night

HOLLYWOOD, Fla. - One of nightlife's most iconic brands, Opium, is set to reinvent South Florida nightlife when The Opium Group's newest hotspot makes a splash of epic proportions at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Fla. Opening in April 2009, Opium couples European-style service with fanciful South Beach design to create a sexy French-Asian "Indochine Shangri-La" concept. Opium is slated to dazzle the most seasoned nightlife connoisseur by bringing all the glamour of South Beach to Broward.

This weekend, April 3rd and 4th, 944 Magazine presents the Friday preview which will feature Cirque de Soleil style performances every hour, fire breathing dragon dancers, Geisha-inspired contortionists and  lots of other surprises. On Saturday, celeb DJ and Good Charlotte front-man Joel Madden takes to the decks to entertain the crowds.

With a mix of ambiance and design inspired by the great cabarets of Paris and modern Asian décor themes, combined with the fanfare of the Las Vegas strip, The Opium Group has created a one-of-a-kind space unlike anything currently existing in the Broward market or beyond.  This grand space provides an over-the-top atmosphere that caters to VIP customer service, high-end clientele, and A-List celebrity affairs, complete with two differently themed rooms, a spacious dance floor, and multiple VIP tables for bottle service guests.

Opium's theatrical entryway sets the tone for VIP experiences and red carpet arrivals. Flanked by flowering Cherry Blossom trees and 19th Century wooden Chinese warrior statues, Opium's entry invites dramatic entrances, complete with special-effect smoke rising from the base.

Guests can venture into the boutique-sized French Boudoir Room for an intimate evening experience or dangerous liaison. Featuring a different, richly adorned velveteen flock wallpaper in warm shades of pink and gold, guests may lounge on luxurious chaise sofas while experiencing both bar and bottle service. Multiple Swarovski crystal chandeliers dot the ceiling, and walls are lined with vibrant lithographs of Andy Warhol pop art.

Opium's grand Shangri-La Main Room drips with decadence, featuring a dance floor and VIP area surrounded by four towering golden Buddha statues. With multiple black Baccarat crystal chandeliers hanging overhead, guests revel in an atmosphere of complete luxury while Asian silk lanterns hang above each bar, creating a warm ambient glow thematic with the Opium Den concept. As seen in the French Boudoir Room, each wall features a different Parisian wallpaper, providing an eye-popping array of high-end Parisian and Asian Fleur de Lys, Paisley, Toile, aviary, and floral patterns. Multiple seating areas take a modern twist on the Asian concept, mixing black and red baby crocodile fabrics with dark ebony accents and flooring.

Remaining consistent with principals of Feng Shui, the DJ booth is surrounded by a towering rain fountain, creating the effect of a waterfall trickling into a circular pond while utilize modern LED lighting technology to change color and theme.

The mezzanine VIP area has been transformed into a modern day Indochine retreat, providing a VIP get-away for casual conversations and private moments, with whimsical palm trees, silk lanterns and Buddha accoutrement along the stairway, making way for a modern seating area featuring chic baby crocodile fabric sofas and lacquered tables. Nooks and crannies throughout Opium will be decorated with one-of-a-kind Chinese antiquities and soaring Teak armoires, benches, and other Far East art.

Opium's revelers can expect a mind-blowing variety of events, music and programming, as the world's top DJs ranging from DJ AM, Bob Sinclar, Steve Aoki, Sasha and John Digweed, David Guetta and Roger Sanchez will set the soundtrack, while Hollywood's A-List celebrities will hold court and entertain the crowds. With Cirque Du Soleil-style performances, Cabaret-inspired dancers, and eye-popping light shows, guests can anticipate a new experience any night they visit Opium at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Fla.
